Glass-Box, not black box

Caught before you tap, with the why attached.

No mystery score. Every flag names the trick it matched and the tell that gave it away, in plain English, so the lesson sticks for the next one.

Measured in the open: 96% recall · 92% precision on a published detection corpus.

The tell
“A UPI PIN only sends money. It can never receive it.”
The trick it matches
Manufactured urgency: “today,” “immediately,” “or your account is blocked.”
What to do
Don’t tap. If unsure, call the number on the back of your card, never the one in the message.

The part no one else does

A scam rarely arrives one message at a time.

A text, then a call, then a UPI request, choreographed to rush you. Centinal chains them into a single coordinated-scam read, entirely on your phone.

1SMS“Your KYC has expired. Account blocked today. Update: bit.ly/kyc-upd”
2Call“This is your bank’s security team. To stop the block, confirm the request we just sent.”
3UPI requestA ₹ collect request lands. Approving it, PIN and all, sends your money out.
One coordinated scam Three events, one story: the fake-KYC text sets it up, the “bank officer” call adds pressure, the UPI request takes the money. Judged apart, each looks borderline. Seen together, on-device, it’s unmistakable.

The proof

Nothing you check ever leaves your phone.

Don’t take our word for it. Cut the internet and watch it keep working.

Personas

Protect the people you love.

One tap tunes Centinal for whoever holds the phone, without hovering over anyone’s shoulder.

Me

Quiet by default. A second opinion in two taps when a message feels off.

Parent

Bigger text, louder warnings, gentle explanations for every flag. They can also hand you any message to check.

Child

Game-bait and gift-card tricks flagged in kid-plain language, before pocket money leaves the house.

Straight answers

Honest by design.

Is Centinal free?

Yes. Scam checking, screenshot scanning, Protection Rings and Safari ad blocking are all free. No account, no ads, no paid tier in this release.

Does it read my SMS or calls?

No. It never reads your messages or calls. It checks only what you paste, screenshot or share into it. Even that is processed on the phone, never uploaded.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. The check runs entirely on the device, so it works in airplane mode. Try it yourself in the proof section above.

Does it block YouTube ads?

No app can. Apple doesn’t allow any blocker to touch YouTube or in-app ads on iOS. We block what’s blockable in Safari and are upfront about the rest.

Already been scammed?

Act within the first 24 hours: call 1930 (India’s cybercrime helpline) or report at cybercrime.gov.in and ask your bank to freeze the transaction.

Is it a guarantee?

No. It is a second opinion, an aid. It can miss a clever scam or flag something harmless. Never share an OTP or PIN on its say-so.

Turn “I’m not sure” into “now I know.”

The quiet guardian for every phone you love.

Free. On-device. Blocks ads in Safari too. Made in India, built in the open.
